WORK PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Our placements are a great way for you to supplement your final year at University to gain work experience and get a head start on the jobs market.

Our placements will offer you a great opportunity to work with colleagues in our Asset Management division building a broad spectrum of knowledge and experience in relation to the management and operation of the strategic road network as we support your development.

The role will be a balance of both office based and outdoor inspection and assessment work on the network. You will be required to actively participate and support in the planning, delivery and reporting of both Highway and Structures Inspections that our critical to our service in understanding the condition and operation of the network.

Achieving a successful placement year may lead to the offer of a place on our graduate scheme at the completion of your studies.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

•You will be in the 2nd year/penultimate year of a Civil Engineering related degree.

•Good communications skills (written and verbal).

•Self-motivated and be able to show initiative.

If you enjoy a varied workload and have an interest of seeing asset management in action, enjoy working as part of a team and can thrive in a fast paced environment, then this is the role for you.

YEAR IN INDUSTRY

  • Salary of £24,790 – £26,409 per annum
  • 1 year placement – September to August
  • On the job training with a chance to experience many different aspects of your chosen field
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Mentoring programme with senior team members to provide support and guidance

Applications will open November to January annually.

You will be supported every step of the way, with work based training (which aligns with your degree requirements) and a mentoring programme with senior team members to provide both support and guidance.

Successful completion may even lead to an offer of a graduate position, subject to availability and eligibility.
